We have done a few podcast during the last 8 months as some of you might know and some of them are my favorites.
When you do podcasting it becomes a representation of yourself, just as it does when I or someone else write posts here on Island of Pain. But podcasts are different as you expose your own voice with all the subtle nuances that comes with all the things you are talking about and how they reflect your beliefs.
This post is about two of my favorite podcast and a couple of others that you can find on the web.
We usually do two types of podcasts; informational ones and the opinionated short ones in which we have an ambition to make people think and debate.
My absolute favorite podcast is our interview with Rebecca Wilcox, a professional pony play trainer and author of the book The Human Pony. I came across an ad about a pony play workshop in Stockholm and I thought that it would be really nice to be there as pony play has always been within my sphere of interests. I managed to get some time with Rebecca, who by the is a lovely person, to do my interview and it was turned into an hour long podcast filled with information about pony play in relation to D/s among other things. Rebecca explained everything in an engaging way and with a level of detail that could be useful to anyone interested in pony play.
Another favorite of mine is a short piece about Submissives without limits, a statement that I believe holds a potential danger and is mostly qualified bullshit. I might piss people off with that statement, but I am convinced that everyone has limits no matter what. If someone claims that they have no limits, then that can easily be put to the test by a simple question – A question that I’ve used a couple of times and it has always invoked a limit when I’ve asked it.
There are also some nice podcasts out there on the web which holds some good discussions and information about BDSM and the lifestyle. I have two that I would like to recommend. The first one is the podcasts over at DungeonPlace.com. They are done as roundtable discussions between Dominant and submissives and are usually free spirited and free flowing when dealing with serious matters within BDSM. They are well worth some serious listening time.
The other one I would like to recommend is the podcasts over at The Masocast. The Masocast is a New York City-based sexuality podcast that features interviews with people who identify as kinky. Their podcasts cover a lot of ground within the kink community and they are very interesting with all kinds of interviews and discussion.
The best thing with podcasts are that they are, in most cases, done without any commercial intent by people who has a burning interest for getting the word out about different kinks. Another good thing is that you can always download podcasts onto your MP3 player and listen to them while you are doing something else.
Why not listen to some of them the next time you are punishing your submissive?
Thank you for the link and recognition!
I’d definitely have to give a thumbs up to @unspeakableaxe and the work he’s done on the Masocast. Excellent podcast!
I’ll need to listen to Pony Play – that’s a new one I hadn’t heard of yet.
