One toy that is interesting as a part of medical play or as a sensation toy is the pin wheel. Its true name is actually Wartenberg wheel and its purpose was to test the nerve reactions with neurological patients. The Wartenberg wheel was systematically rolled across the skin to create sensations that would fire off the nerves when exposed to stimuli.
The Wartenberg wheel is usually made from stainless steel and the wheel itself has evenly spaced radiating sharp pins, rotates around as it is rolled across the flesh.
The Wartenberg wheel is hardly used today within medicine due to hygienic problems and have been replaced with disposable versions instead.
Fortunately enough, the Wartenberg wheel has found its way into BDSM. It’s a delightful little toy that can be used for many things. Use it lightly on the skin of your submissive to create a tickling sensation, let them see the wheel as the spikes a visually intimidating. Press it harder to inflict pain and reactions that create reflexes which will enhance the feeling of not having any control.
A versatile little thing that can give you a lot of hours of tormenting pleasure, independent of whether you are a Dominant or submissive.
Love this toy 🙂 great when blindfolded too as sensations are often heightened but I have found from observation of others that a few to many subs are afraid and wont permit it to be used on them and wont even try it, which is such a shame, as its such a gentle none painful instrument unless in the hands of someone evil lol and then it can be pretty awesome too lol
Totally agree with you – The pin wheel is a versitile instrument and its usage is always dependant of the hands that it has been put in.
The fear that you mention might be based on the fact that it is quite easy to break the skin with a pin wheel and blood in a scene is a hard limit to a lot of people.
