Submissive – A submissive person allows themselves to be controlled by other people.
Submission for me is at the very core of who I am. Service is my way of showing my submission outwardly. Looking back on my life so far shows a history of service, yet mostly to those people who I love – my family and friends, but also in my working life. Leaving a job badly done or half-finished always left me with a sense of guilt, as if I had not fulfilled my full potential and somehow failed. It was as though I had not given it the love it deserved. The feelings I get from offering my service to my Master, be it a small thing such as preparing a cup of tea, gives me a sense of purpose. I don’t always have to hear a please or a thank you, but when the service is acknowledged it gives me such a feeling of satisfaction that it makes all my negative thoughts disappear.
My submission is intertwined with my love for my Master. He is the centre of my universe. I trust him to guide me through my journey, sharing my experiences, but also by allowing me to express my submission freely without too many rules and protocols.
Showing my submission to my Master in front of others allows my devotion to him to be seen. Not in a showy way, I’m not the sort of person who likes to be the centre of attention. What I do, I do freely and naturally, there is nothing artificial in my submission. If I am having a bad day (attitude wise), it’s very hard for me to cover it up. But I still do as I am asked, because it actually gives me a sense of freedom from what is bothering me. Letting go of any inhibitions or frustrations and just concentrating on what the task at hand is allows me to focus. When my Master acknowledges the act with a kiss or a thank you, my heart soars. Maybe just for a few moments, but its enough to make me realise that I am where I want to be, doing what I want to do – serving the man I love.
