Curiosity struck me today as I was doing a mental shopping list that I’m going for while being in London. I have a fairly modest “toolbox” of BDSM equipment that I find useful:
- 1 Posture collar
- 1 blindfold
- 1 paddle
- 1 pair of handcuffs (without pink frilly fabric!)
- 1 whip with rubber flails – Stingy!
- 2 pair of nipple clamps – Clover Clamps (my favorite) and tweezer clamps
- A pair of leather cuffs that works for both legs or hands
- 5 Padlocks to lock cuffs or use as weight on the clover clamps
- Different types of chains
- Clothing pins
That covers the most basic needs, but I also have an extensive wishlist 😉

I’m not listing the whole kit n kaboodle (yet?) but will mention items in my playkit you do not, which I find to be nice multitasking toys:
* a short but somewhat heavy chain leash, nice smooth links with a leather handle; amazing amount of sensation play in it aside from psychological impact.
* a long handled wooden kitchen spoon, which is great for tapping, posture correction nudges or lifting, moderate to heavy focussed paddling (with less wrist fatigue), and other sensation play. Be aware some wooden sppons may need inspection after repeated cleanings, to insure they remain smooth and without even little splinters; land sanding might eventually be in order. But I find the versatility and very low cost worth the care.
I recently had a fun chat with someone in SL about what I called “kitchen BDSM”, e.g. using common kitchen implements or even pantry items for BDSM play. Once dedicated to BDSM play they don’t go back into 🙂 kitchen drawers. One sub told me that serious punishment from his mistress was kneeling on uncooked rice; he said the effect built; I have not tested this myself.
* a spare bag, to segregate used-should be cleaned from unused toys takes up little room and is handy.
* And a bottle of water, for drinking – because one of the best tools a dominant has is voice.
Totally agree with you Cloud – Even a dominant with a fair share of stamina can get thirsty. And you can also drink the water in front of your restrained sub after an exhausting flogging session 😉 Just that thought arouses me a bit.
The brush you use when doing the dishes is also good for sensation play. A spatula leaves a nice red tone on the sub’s bottom 😉 And you even have the choice to leave marks with stripes or holes in them depending on what type of spatula you choose 🙂
