It was in January 2017 that the Swedish martial arts star took a taxi home to a woman he had previously met on a few occasions. The woman told during interrogation that he had arrived unannounced and shortly after commenced an abuse that lasted for almost four hours.
The martial arts star wrapped a vacuum cleaner hose around her neck and also pressed her head under the water while she was taking a bath.
BDSM sex, according to the martial arts star.
But what the woman experienced was a totally differently matter and claims abuse. “She asked him to quit in every way possible and screamed for help”, according to a quote in the testament.
The woman managed to escape from the apartment and sought help from her neighbors who assisted her in calling the police, and the man was later arrested. During the journey to the police station, the martial arts star talked about himself as “God’s gift to women” and was unaware of why he was arrested, according to police reports.
“During the journey to Flemingsberg the suspect expressed extreme sexual innuendos while exposing a vile view upon women.”, the arresting officers wrote in the report. During the medical examination that followed, the man became aggressive. “It was a wrestling match. The majority of police officers and guards present had to hold him down” according to the investigation.
During interrogation, the martial arts star acknowledged the crime and asked the police to give his apologies to the victim.
However, he later denied the allegations during the trial.
The District Court in Sweden sentenced the martial arts star to one year and six months in jail for gross abuse and drug offenses, but now in early July 2017, the Court of Appeal is tightening the penalty and the sentence has been increased to one year and eight months in jail.
An expert in social work testified during the trial that BDSM sessions which include breath play are not so common in BDSM as BDSM practitioners often take into account how dangerous this type of practice is and so therefore also require that parties should “fully focus on their actions and are not affected by alcohol or drugs “.
The Court of Appeal finds that the woman’s injuries are relevant “regardless of whether this may have been done in the context of consensual sexual acts or otherwise.”
The lawyer of the martial art star, Baharak Vaziri, states that the martial arts star denies the crimes:
– I will meet my client to discuss whether we will appeal or not. It may be the right time (for the Supreme Court of Justice) to raise the issue because it is about BDSM sex. The consequence of this often causes injuries, and it is something that was also stated by the expert in court, she says.
