Not being allowed to be open about your sexuality is an oppression of the worst kind. It will limit your personality, it will diminish your identity and affect the very fabric of who you are.
The Beautiful Kind is a sex blog that has been out there for quite some time, but now it’s put on hold as the owner of the blog has lost her job because of her blogging.
Yes, you read it correctly – She lost her job because of her blogging. She was taking every precaution possible to not reveal her identity and not blog about information that would disclose information connected to her real life identity. And most important of all; she never wrote about her work. The blog was a reflection of her intimate parts of her private life.
Still her employer managed, due to a social media glitch, to connect the dots and track the blog back to her which consequently led to the termination of her employment.
This is discrimination of the worst kind and we are reaching a point where we are being treated as parts of a feudal system. This is a development that’s dangerous and out of line.
If I choose write about my sexuality, then there is something wrong if my employer is allowed to affect how I live my sex and love life outside of work, especially if it isn’t affecting my work performance. I find it very disturbing when employers are taking actions based on peoples sex lives. I also find it very alarming when your boss is invading your personal integrity by tracking down an identity behind a pen name.
You can read her own description of what happened that morning she went to work when her boss had been looking at her blog.
Please give her supporting comments – She probably needs it after her ordeal.
Be also aware that there are always forces trying to limit your freedom under the pretention that they represent the right moral and ethical values. This sort of development makes me worried about the freedom to express your sexuality, a development that should never be accepted. My advice to the owner of The Beautiful Kind blog is that she reveals the name of the company that fired her. They are hiding behind a vail of anonymity right now and is getting away with their wrong doings due to this.
Edit: Daily RFT have a different angle on this story connected to legal matters – Check it out…
Thank you for the kind support! Still no job, but I’m relaunching my site May17. You can’t keep a good slut down!
I’m delighted to hear that! We are cheering on you and our opinion is that a company you are working for shouldn’t be dealing with your private activities – Especially as you haven’t connected them to the company you are working for. Keep up the good work and hang in there, you might not have a job – But you have dignity and integrity and that is worth much more in the long run as it is traits that will eventually land you a new job.
